IDC defines Big Memory Computing as a market segment consisting of memory hardware and Big Memory software that creates a new persistent memory tier. Working together, Intel® Optane™ persistent memory and MemVerge Memory Machine software form Big Memory Computing solutions. These solutions revolutionize HPC memory by enabling lower cost, higher capacity and allow persistent memory to go DRAM-fast and provide memory-to-memory snapshots that reduce the time recover from crashes to a few seconds. Attendees will learn how Memory Machine software virtualizes DRAM and Persistent Memory into a single pool of software-defined memory. Once virtualized, Memory Machine provides snapshot and replication for recovery of data at memory speed. Memory Machine can also provide logical clones of massive in-memory databases for access by developers or other applications. This is done in seconds and without duplicating the physical memory.
